Community activists held a panel discussion to recognize the 40th anniversary of a march through the rain in Los Angeles to protest the Vietnam War. Organizers say the ``March in the Rain'' was a turning point of the Chicano Movement.

One of the photos that has influenced me the most is by Raul Ruiz who is currently a Chicano Studies professor at Cal State Northridge.
Raul Ruiz’ took the photo of a shotgun-wielding Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputy pointing his weapon at some men outside of the Silver Dollar on August 29th, 1970. According to several accounts I have read, Ruiz was across the street from the bar when he took a series of photographs as Los Angeles Co Sheriff Deputies surrounded the bar.
