I shot Celia Cruz and her husband Pedro Knight in Hollywood in 1984. I don't think I have the negs anymore but I did have one 5 x 7 black and white print that I scanned.

A couple months ago I shot Rocio Marron for her website and CD. She wanted me to shoot her on the 6th Street Bridge where I had shot her and the band Quetzal 10 years earlier.

I was looking for a CD and ran into my Little Man & The Giants' 1998 "Halloween Night" CD.
I met Little Man and Kenny when they played at the East Lois Angeles Library Branch in 1999 then took the picture above in early 2000. Also in the photo are brothers Randy and Scott Rodarte wh0 were not listed on the CD credits and probably joined afterward.
Guadalupe Custom Strings

A few weeks ago I was able to spend a few hours shooting at Guadalupe Custom Strings in Los Angeles. The four men who run the business are Jacob Hernandez (top left), Gabriel Tenorio (top right) Luis Vasquez (bottom left) and José Becerra (bottom right).

After posting the photo of the Denny's sign going up I started to think about José Nuñez.
In February of 2008 I met José after he played a set at Troy's Burgers on Avenida Cesar Chavez and Eastern Ave. A few days later I met him there and we took the bus to Zamora Bros so I could shoot him playing for tips. A couple days later I recorded him playing at the Jack in the Box on Avenida Cesar Chavez and Mott St.
I wondered if Denny's will allow him and others to play.

Several years ago I photographed a few local Los Angeles music and poety groups. One of my Flickr sets has Quetzal, Ozomatli, Cihuatl Tonali, Jarabe Citlali, Quinto Sol and In Lak Ech. Most of it was shot on BW film. I will keep adding to that set until I have an edit for a gallery on Calaverascallejeras.com.
